Last night my band, Insect Sex Act, played its last show. We all get along okay, and we will do reunion shows, but no one knows when that will happen. It was hot at the club, and I couldn't put in the usual energy for my performance. It went pretty well.
I remember in December 2008, when we were playing once a week at 710, and I was partying like I was on tour with The Faces in 1972. We played for maybe a dozen people every Tuesday at 9, but I was fully engaged with the Rock and Roll lifestyle. It was late in December 2008 that I decided to commit to abstinence from alcohol and drugs. I don't think I would have done as well with Insect Sex Act if I hadn't made that decision. Plus my quality of life in general would be pretty shitty right now.
We are supposed to have a CD out sometime in the coming months. Look here for more info on that. I will try to get Max to post some videos on Youtube.
I went to my high school reunion tonight. I could only stay for like an hour and fifteen minutes. My antipsychotic medication causes a condition called ackethesia (sp?). That means I get real antsy and restless if I stay in one place for very long, and I just have the urge to MOVE.
People at the reunion all looked like they were in reasonably good health. I didn't see a couple of people I would have liked to see, though. I gave Happy my URL, so maybe a classmate or two will actually read this in a couple of days.
