The initial pencil work is always the most difficult part of these books.  I have to make a lot of decisions and the sketchy pencil drawing don't start off looking very good.  I always have to force myself to keep slogging away at this stage.  The key is to do at least 17 or 18 days a month at this stage.  It pretty much takes care of itself if I keep this goal in mind as I go throughout the month.

I'm also trying to punch up my music act.  I'm trying to get to the point where I can play live.  The whole reason I want to do that in the first place is so that I will have another place to hustle books.  Just think, if I work real hard on my act and at least play a lot of open mics, and maybe get an actual gig somewhere, I can maybe sell 35-40 books a year instead of my usual 25-30 books a year.  If I get a gig I would hit the streets again and hand out info so I could feel like even more of a jackass.

One of the main benefits of doing to the flyer thing on Red River is that I pared down what I'm committed to working on.  I shelved a whole new comic title that I'd been planning on doing for months.  I'm glad that I did that.  Comics are hard.  The Richy Vegas title takes a lot of commitment all by itself.  I decided the first night after being out on Red River to just ditch the new title.

Women in my social circle, classmates, coworkers, much younger female employees of businesses I patronize on a regular basis; by far the least datable women remains the women in the last listed category.  Hands down, no question, the least fruitful category belongs to much younger female employees of businesses I patronize regularly.

So maybe a good move for me would be to demurely, discreetly withdraw whatever request, verbal or non-verbal, I may make to a woman in this category that she love me.  It's a hell of a thing to ask another human being to love me.  Any human being, really.
Particularly a woman who belongs to a category of human that has not panned out at all.  To the extent that I seem to come across as a guy asking such a woman to do this in some way, I will try to stop doing this.  That's as good as I got.
