I saw on my last post that I made June 22nd as my deadline for the completion of the pencil work. I've powered through that goal so much so that now, June 25, I've finished twelve pages of the finished book, including the cover. It's a little after 5 AM and I'm stoked about finishing the book by the middle of September.
I promised myself that I would complete only one to two pages per work day. I want to pay attention to the quality of the drawings and not get too caught up in finishing as fast as I possibly can. I think that I am starting to scrape the ceiling at 5 and 1/2 to 6 months for completing the books.
I didn't get any awards for the book that I submitted for same. It looks like the awards I submitted for are more for established people. I'm a self-published guy, so not established. MoCCA Fest has an awards contest that more geared for me, if I decide to get a table next year. MoCCA fest is in NYC in April.
I did get reviewed recently. I've posted the review to my Facebook page. It's not as enthusiastic as the one I got in January, but the guy still had some nice things to say. Once I finish this book and get it printed up I'm going to submit it to the Austin Chronicle and enclose hard copies of the two reviews.
