I took me ten months to complete issue # 8 of Richy Vegas comics. I've already started on issue # 9! I've got the number of pages broken down to eighty individual pages. Readers of Richy Vegas comics will note that the books come out from about 75 to 80 pages for each issue-at least since issue # 4. My editing skills have improved over the years, and I decided to limit the page count to no more than eighty pages and no less than seventy-five pages to impose some discipline to the presentation. It's a length that I can manage to do in about a year.
I'm going to take it easy as far as creative stuff goes this month in order to watch the MLB play-offs. I hope to be out on the streets hustling my stuff in the form of flyers after that. It's really a pretty odious task. I don't do as much of that kind of thing as I think I "need" to do. Before February of this year I used to do almost none of that kind of stuff to promote and advertise what I do, so I guess that's quite a bit of improvement.
I'm not going to do any videos for any more of my songs. The whole concept of doing everything myself and heavily involving the use of drawings seems a little onanistic and pointless. I want to concentrate all my art making to the books. The only other thing that I will allow myself to do is the songs for my next album. There's the band, of course, but I don't know if the planned new direction of that will get off the ground.
Max says he'll release that Insect Sex Act footage soon. If he releases it on Youtube I can link to it and give people some more video to look at.
Like I said, I'll probably get issue # 8 back from Ginny's Printing tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it.
